Mendenhall-Lake-Glacier.tif
Mendenhall Glacier is located north of downtown Juneau in an area referred to as the valley. As the glacier slowly recedes the lake is forming and started to do so in 1931. If you follow the glacier up it will run into the Juneau Ice Field which is currently the 5th largest in North America.
This image was taken around 8pm with a couple of hours of sunlight still remaining on this day. Just over the shore are some pieces of ice which right after I took this image some kids went to try to retrieve but the smaller piece was just out of their reach.
