Late summer is the time of year when fields of sunflowers on the eastern plains of Colorado attract photographers. The main challenge is finding where they are located as it changes each year. This year I found a field of sunflowers south of the airport near their peak. I spent a couple of afternoons photographing in this area. The image of this sunflower is the isolation of the forward sunflower as it leads the rest of the field towards the eastern sky. It is easy to lose track of time while photographing a field like this with so many options in a close space.
