Over the summer the lake was drained as a construction project was started which will provide some additional separation from Interstate 70 as well as other improvements in the area. As the lake was drained this summer, plenty of treasure hunters made their way to the location to search for old coins, jewelry and anything else which may have been lost in the lake over the years. Even today months after the lake was drained there are still people out with metal detectors looking for treasure. The image for today are the pilings from the old pier in the lake, and most people may not even know existed.
