On Thanksgiving morning this past year I headed to the Lake Merritt area near downtown Oakland to capture the city prior to sunrise. For most of the years I have been doing the Thirty Days Project, I have photographed first thing in the morning the skyline where I was on Thanksgiving Day to allow me to spend time with family the rest of the day. This morning while along the lake there was already a steady number of runners and walkers out for their morning exercise.
