• We all have driven under one of the newer bridges on 6th Avenue in Lakewood. On a November evening, I decided to photograph this bridge at sunset taking advantage of the light and the direction of the sunset. With this location there are two variables to consider, the sunset as well as the train schedule. Since it was a weekday the schedule had more trains along the RTD W line and this one came at just the right time to add to the image for today.

 • On Christmas in 2014 I headed out to Golden just after the snow started falling the afternoon. Being at some friends not far from Golden I was almost there already so it seemed to be a good decision. The drive out to Golden was quite interesting as the snow was coming down fast at times with the wind blowing. Upon arriving in Golden I was treated to a fresh blanket of snow and plenty of holiday lights. As I was exploring some lights in the distance on a tree I found the bridge and later this vantage point along Clear Creek which was a great spot to capture a snowy Christmas in the Denver area.

 • Just after the first of the year a significant snowfall came into the Denver area. With this snowfall I took advantage of photographing the B52 outside Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. This was the first year holiday lights were placed on this large aircraft. I arrived to the location just prior to dusk I look at some vantage points and then started photographing as it got dark, at time fighting with the heavy snow coming down right into the camera lens. This was a nice addition to the Denver holiday lights list this year and hopefully it will return in upcoming years as well.

 • Just before Christmas a sizable snow storm moved through the front range of Colorado. As the snow started to fall I decided to head out and photograph in an area I had not been during a storm which was downtown Littleton Colorado. The above image was taken as I arrived in the area, and after spending a little more than an hour in the snow I left with a few inches more of snow on the ground as it picked up intensity during the time I was there. This made for an interesting drive home, but it was all worth it being out in the conditions taking pictures.

 • Veterans Day led me to Fort Logan National Cemetery for some images. As there were quite a few people out today, I ventured to areas which did not have people at the time in order to respect their privacy at the cemetery. I noticed many flowers throughout the grounds, but the flags in the below image attracted my attention and after looking at the image in Lightroom decided converting it to black and white was more powerful than just in color.

 • One evening I headed out to the Lowry development on the east part of Denver. This area was once home to the Lowry Air Force Base and over the past fifteen years it has been redeveloped into a new neighborhood. Some of the more noticeable reminders of the past are the large hangars which remain, one of which is the home to the Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. As the sun started to set, it looked like I may luck out and get some color in the clouds. Once I settled on photographing near the hangars I set-up my shot and hoped for something to happen and the evening did bring a little color to the sky.

 • Planning ahead, is the story of the Dayton Street Bridge across Interstate 225 next to the light rail station. One evening I was thinking of a location for a photograph and this location came to mind.

I knew the bridge was there as I have driven past it a few times in this area near Cherry Creek Dam, and thought this would be a great time to check it out. As you can see it is a full sized bridge leading to a path which provides access to many miles around Cherry Creek State Park This evening also started with a full moon but quickly led to the clouds moving in with a light sprinkle along the drive home.

 • I found myself out in Golden and as I walked around the downtown area I found myself walking through the Clear Creek History Park as the late afternoon sun was just over the foothills. The combination of this nice light and the old structures provided some nice opportunities to photograph and for a little while I took some images of the roof of one of the buildings. The patterns of the roof and one piece of wood sticking up more so is what caught my eye in this image.
