  • On many mornings while I was in Havana I would walk the streets as each day was beginning. In any city it is quite different of the morning activities as people start their day. From children heading to school, businesses opening up and people walking towards their jobs. This morning as I headed towards the capital of Cuba I found myself on a street leading directly to the capitol which I was able to capture with the cars on a one way street heading towards the building.

  • Walking through Havana in the morning you can watch the city come to life. Just after sunrise I was along the Malecon and came across a group of men who were fishing prior to heading to their daily jobs. This was a common site along the seawall most mornings. As I was capturing the scene a cruise ship entered the harbor for the day bring an additional splash of color to this scene.

  • On my final day in Havana a small weather system moved into the city bringing up the wind as it passed through the city. Even with the wind I headed out to the Malecon and was treated to the waves crashing against the seawall. I watched in awe of the force of the waves but also used that time to see where the waves were breaking, with that knowledge I searched for an interesting foreground and pointed my camera. Within five minute this wave crashed into the seawall send up a large wave with great force.

  • While I was in Cuba, I walked through the Plaza de San Francisco de Asis in Havana where there were flocks of birds which flew around the plaza. I was busy photographing some of the buildings when a flock flew by where I was standing. Quickly adjusting the camera I started to follow them as they flew past capturing this image which froze their location but still shows the wings moving in most of the pigeons.
