The full moon was out on this day and it was the closest the moon has been in 70 years. One of the effects of this is the change in the tide levels in Juneau with at times the next few days swings of 25 feet between high and low tide in the area.

When flying into Juneau just a few hours earlier I noticed the tide was quite high, but when I was out at Sheep Creek it was nearing low tide already. With this change it allowed for the creek to show out it flows out to the Gastineau Channel and eventually to the ocean.
